Closeup of the leaf of Podophyllum difforme 'Kaleidoscope', a cultivar of the Chinese May Apple, a Chinese woodland perennial, near evergreen in mild areas. Its main appeal lies in the large, very boldly marked leaves. The purplish-red flowers are often largely hidden by the foliage, but they are followed by fruits that are yellow and quite conspicuous when mature. The plant will grow to as much as 50cm tall, though 40cm is more typical and will from a clump at least 50cm wide. Order: Ranunculales, Family: Berberidaceae
