Daphniphyllum himalayense var. macropodum, a form of a densely foliaged, evergreen. Nepalese shrub or small tree. Until it flowers it looks rather like a large rhododendron but the pinkish red clusters of small flowers are quite distinctive. Bright green new growth follows the flowers.
