The showy bracts of the Himalayan Strawberry Tree or Bentham's Cornel (Cornus capitata [syn. Dendrobenthamia capitata]). One of the few evergreen dogwoods, this tree late spring- to early summer-flowering tree grows to 16m and is native to the Himalayan region and nearby parts of China. The large strawberry-like fruits are edible but very astringent and are usually consumed only by birds. Order: Cornales, Family: Cornaceae
