The lower leaf surface of a grape suffering the effects of grape leaf blister mite, grape vine blister mite or erineum mite (Colomerus vitis). The tiny mites cause the hairs on the undersides of the leaves to become greatly enlarged in dense patches, which creates the characteristic blisters. The mites live within the hair mass and a few can be seen in the full size version of this image. Although the damage is unsightly, the mites do not greatly affect the vine's health or crop. pests-and-diseases-3512htm'>Plant. Pests and Diseases
