Close-up of the foliage of Kosso (Hagenia abyssinica), an evergreen tree up to 20m tall, native to the higher regions of central and eastern Africa. It has distinctive grey-green pinnate foliage on red-tinted stems and large panicles of tiny pink flowers that are followed by small dry brown fruits. In much of Africa it is an important medicinal tree, especially for the control of intestinal worms. Order: Rosales, Family: Rosaceae
