Assegai Tree or Cape Lancewood (Curtisia dentata), an evergreen 12-20m tall tree native to southern Africa. The toothed leaves are covered with indumentum when young and on the undersides when mature. Sprays of small, inconspicuous flowers appear through the warmer months and become long-lasting pale green fruits that eventually develop pink or red tints. Order: Cornales, Family: Curtisiaceae
