Ilex x altaclerensis 'Lawsoniana', a variegated female sport of 'Hendersonii' that originated at T. Hodgins' nursery in Britain in the mid 1800s. This Highclere holly has foliage that is smooth-edged, sometimes with one or two spines on vestigial lobes. The fruit is a dull red until very ripe and often falls shortly after reaching its brightest colour. Order: Aquifoliales, Family: Aquifoliaceae
