Veronica propinqua (syns. Hebe propinqua, Leonohebe propinqua), an evergreen shrub with very small leaves that are closely adpressed to the stems. Veronicas with this type of foliage are commonly known as whipcord hebes. It is native to the subalpine and alpine regions of the southern South Island of New Zealand. The flowers are white.
