A narrow path in a subalpine limestone region of the eastern South Island, New Zealand. The path is edged with wildflowers, mainly Ox-eye Daisy, Moon Daisy or Marguerite (Leucanthemum vulgare), which is an herbaceous late spring- to summer-flowering perennial up to 1m tall in flower. Originally native to Eurasia, it has now naturalised in many temperate areas. It is known mainly as a wildflower, though forms with variegated foliage or double flowers are occasionally cultivated.
