Triticale (X. Triticosecale rimpaui), a hybrid between rye (Secale cereale) and wheat (Triticum aestivum). The grain it produces in more nutritious than wheat, though less well suited to baking, and consequently it has been mainly used as a stock feed grain. Triticale is widely grown as a multi-use crop that can be grazed when young then left to grow for seed production or turned into silage. Order: Poales, Family: Poaceae
