The bark of the Huntingdon. Elm (Ulmus x hollandica ‘Vegeta’). This British-raised cultivar is a 20–35m hybrid between Ulmus glabra and Ulmus carpinifolia. It dates from 1746 and is distinguished by the short petioles of its leaves, the lattice patterning of the bark and its resistance to Dutch elm disease. As with most elms the papery seed capsules (samara) are showier than the flowers. Order: Rosales, Family: Ulmaceae Order: Rosales, Family: Rosaceae
