Mosses with fungal mycelia. At first glance, this image would appear to show mosses in a mycorrhizal relationship with fungi. However, some authorities say that mosses do not have mycorrhizal associations. Others disagree and suggest that arbuscular mycorrhizae do associate with mosses. The mosses within the mycelia shown here certainly appear more vigorous than those outside it.
