The juvenile foliage of Kurrajong (Brachychiton populneus), a broad-crowned, evergreen tree, up to 18m tall, native to the eastern quarter of Australia. It tolerates a wide variety of soils and grows in areas from semi-arid to forested and well watered. In suitable climates it may be invasive. The adult foliage is poplar-like but juvenile leaves usually have three lobes. The trunk is only slightly swollen, which is more noticeable with young trees. Clusters of cream to pale pink flowers with red interiors open from late spring. brachychiton-2607htm'>Brachychiton.
