An area of bush on the West Coast, South Island , New Zealand with an abundance of Astelia fragrans, a clumping, evergreen perennial found through most of the damper areas of New Zealand from sea level to 900m. Its spring to early summer heads of tiny greenish cream flowers are followed in autumn by orange fruits. The species was once considered a form of Astelia nervosa. There is also some.
