Creeping Bent. Grass (Agrostis stolonifera) regrowing after being roughly mown. This perennial grass, originally native to Eurasia and North Africa, is now widely naturalised in the temperate zones. It spreads by stolons and can form large mats, the stems growing sideways before turning up. Although often rather invasive and weedy, it is a good fodder grass and is extensively used as a sports turf. agrostis-3641htm'>Agrostis. .
