The top of the spathe and the base of the spadix of the Devil's Tongue, Snake Palm or Umbrella Arum (<i>Amorphophallus rivieri</i>), a large cormous perennial found from Indonesia to southern Japan. It produces deeply divided leaves up to 13m wide and pungent aroid flowers with a spathe to 40cm long and a spadix and appendix to 55cm long. This is the cultivar 'Konjac', which has a slightly larger limb than the species and is cultivated in its native range for its edible corms. Order: Alismatales, Family: Araceae
