The large purple-tinted leaves of Alocasia plumbea 'Chelsonii', once thought to be a hybrid (<i>Alocasia x chelsonii</i>), recent revisions of this genus suggest that both of its parents are actually cultivars of Alocasia plumbea from Sri. Lanka, southern India and Malaysia, which is itself very similar to Alocasia macrorrhiza. alocasia-2256htm'>Alocasia.
