Agapanthus 'Ellamae' (syn 'Royal Ama'), a summer flowering 1978 American hybrid of probable Agapanthus africanus x Agapanthus praecox parentage. Near-evergreen in mild climates it forms a dense clump of strappy leaves with heads of clear deep blue flowers that have green pedicels. The flower stems can exceed 1.2m tall.
