Agapanthus 'Ellamae' (syn 'Royal Ama'), a summer flowering 1978 American hybrid of probable <i>Agapanthus africanus</i> x <i>Agapanthus praecox</i> parentage. Near-evergreen in mild climates it forms a dense clump of strappy leaves with heads of clear deep blue flowers that have green pedicels. The flower stems can exceed 1.2m tall. Order: Asparagales, Family: Amaryllidaceae
