The common green-fleshed kiwifruit (Actinidia delisiosa) and the more recently introduced gold-fleshed kiwifruit, which is a hybrid between Actinidia deliciosa and Actinidia chinensis. Both of these deciduous vine fruits are native to China but were developed as commercial crops in New Zealand. The golden kiwifruit is smaller, smoother, sweeter and has fewer seeds than the green and also differs in the shape of the blossom end of the fruit. The small, berry-like Actinidia arguta is also being promoted as a commercial fruit crop. Order: Ericales, Family: Actinidiaceae
