Red-stemmed Wattle (Acacia rubida), a tough 15-12m tall evergreen shrub or tree from eastern Australia. The ferny juvenile foliage is very different from the sickle-shaped adult phyllodes. It flowers in late winter to spring and is quite easily distinguished by its red-tinted stems and sprays of relatively widely spaced, spherical, bright yellow flowerheads. Order: Fabales, Family: Fabaceae
