Gold-tooth. Aloe (<i>Aloe perfoliata</i>), a form of the species formerly known as Aloe mitriformis, which has now been incorporated with several other similar species into Aloe perfoliata. It is a low, evergreen, rosette-forming succulent native to the Cape region of South Africa. It is a spreading plant that can eventually grow to around 2m across. The flowers are orange-red and borne on stems up to 40cm tall. The leaves are edged and studded with yellow teeth. Order: Asparagales, Family: Asphodelaceae
