The top of the flowerhead of Agave chiapensis, an evergreen succulent endemic to the Mexican state of Chiapas. It forms a single rosette or small clumps or rosettes of light green to grey-green, toothed-edged leaves and produces an erect, usually unbranching flower spike to 2m tall. The densely massed flowers are yellow green and open from reddish purple buds. Order: Asparagales, Family: Asparagaceae
